  • Wow!

    By a7xjackybhoy
In my own opinion, Lynyrd Skynyrd will never be the same without the original line-up. But the bravery it must have taken for (Johnny in particular) to step up to the microphone and carry on as Skynyrd after decade of absense is astounding, anyway fast forward a few years to 2009. Skynyrd have exploded back onto the scene with a heavier more anthemic sound, with plenty of grit and alot of crunching guitar work, combined with Van Zant's powerfully accented southern vocals, Simple Life is probably the most notably special out of all of the tracks on this record. However as i said it will never be the original Skynyrd, this version will always be able to reach the heights the originals could, with the talent to match. God & Guns is an excellent piece of music given a modern twist to a classic sound, it may not agree with all fans of the band but it can be enjoyed by anyone with a passion for rock music.

Not from the USA but still love this band." This ain't my America" could just as easily be applied to the Uk today. Keep it going boys and thank you.
  • Still Alive, Still Unbroken

I can't praise this album enough. The kings of Southern Rock have excelled on this album. Not one bad song on here, classic Skynyrd tunes with a great, up to date sound and some great themes explored throughout. One of the mainstay albums in my car, worth getting the deluxe version of some cool extra tracks and the live stuff as well. Standout tracks: Still Unbroken, Simple Life, Comin' Back For More, Skynyrd Nation, Little Thing Called You and my personal favourite: the dirty, raw 'Floyd'

I agree with "grumps"; great sound that combines the talent of R Medlocke with the LS team to best effect. OK some of the lyrics are on the scarlet side of redneck, but it's a great rock album. Welcome back boys!
  • Awesome

Saw these old time rockers at Brixton earlier this year and have to say it was one of the best concerts I've been to. The new album is great and is well worth getting if you like a good bit of rock. If you get the chance go see them, you won't regret it.
  • Love it musically, but...

I love this album musically, but not being a gun toting, bible basher I just can't get on board with a few of the songs lyrically. If that's the way you lean politically though you'll love it.
  • Skynyrd meets Blackfoot

Rickey Medlocke has transformed this band with his writing and guitar work. Brings Skynyrd up to date. Same Southern rock roots with a modern twist that so many others including Balckfoot got wrong.

Since when did Lynyrd Skynyrd become Nickleback? Sounds awfull - all of the original band's character drowned in 2009 USA studio production. I actually think Ronnie wouldn't be pleased in the slightest. No LS magic to be found here!
  • Lets Drive!!!

    By Rob 901
This is one of the best albums I have owned in recent years. Every song on the album is well crafted and you can tell from the lyrics it is heartfelt. Combined with some amazingly simple riffs and melodies this is great driving music whilst out on route 66!!. To coin a phrase - all killa no filla. Awesome album guys - bought Vicious Cycle off the back of it - so pleased I did

Ronnie would be proud how his band has come on, its classic Skynyrd with a 21st century twist. Not one song i come close to disliking, i love every track on the album. The live tracks at the end are a nice touch too.
